Catharsis
The Concept
A cathartic story is about feeling it out loud—so the people watching can finally feel something too. It's to release what's been held in too long—and let your audience do the same. It's not about being polished. It's about being raw, present, and true.
Start not with words, but with the feeling
- What's the emotion you've been carrying, silently, for too long?
- What's the moment you never processed—but still remember in detail?
- When did you try to hold it together... but knew you were falling apart inside?
- What truth do you want to say out loud, not to be heard—but just to stop hiding?
Best formats
Spoken-word monologue / Raw vlog with visible emotion / Black screen + confession audio / One-take vent
Structure it as: Build-up/Breaking point /Emotional release /Moment of stillness
Ways to express the emotional release
- Let the voice crack, the tears fall, the silence sit
- Use long pauses and breath as punctuation
- Don't explain the feeling—let it speak for itself
